White House shows Donald Trump as Superman amid tariff storm, gets trolled, users cite Jeffrey Epstein link

US President Donald Trump, who has been hitting the global headlines and pushing market fluctuations with his tariff move, has been portrayed as ‘Superman’ by none other than the White House itself. Calling the 79-year-old the “symbol of hope”, the White House posted an AI-generated picture of Trump in Superman avatar, following the release of James Gunn-directed Superman today.

“The symbol of hope. Truth. Justice. The American way. Superman Trump,” the White House tweeted.

Sharing AI-generated images by either the White House or Trump is not a novelty. In May, before Pope Leo was elected, the US President shared an AI-generated image of himself as the Pope. After receiving backlash, with a reporter pointing out to Trump a week later that some Catholics found it offensive, he downplayed it, saying it was only a joke for a “little fun”.

The US President didn’t escape the counterblast this time either. Trump got fiercely trolled with several comments citing his alleged link to child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, which has been brought to the fore by the US President’s former ally Elon Musk.

“I never thought I’d see the day when the White House is just a joke. This is so embarrassing,” tweeted one user.

“And the Epstein files are his Kryptonite,” tweeted another.

Trump on Thursday announced a 35 per cent tariff on Canadian imports from August 1, in a move deepening the rift between the two North American neighbours. He also said that he was planning to impose blanket 15 to 20 per cent tariffs on most other trading partners.

The US President, so far, has released tariff announcement letters to as many as 22 countries, including a whopping 50 per cent tariffs on imports from Brazil. He also announced a 50 per cent tariff on copper imports, also set to take effect from August 1.

Meanwhile, Musk – the SpaceX CEO and X owner – has said that exposing the Epstein files will be a top priority of his newly announced political venture, the America Party. His comments came amid a renewed review of the government’s handling of documents linked to the late American financier’s notorious sex-trafficking network, and what the tech billionaire and others claimed is a lack of transparency.
