Vehicle ploughs into crowd in Los Angeles, more than 20 injured: Cops

More than 20 people were injured after a vehicle drove into a crowd on Santa Monica Boulevard in East Hollywood, Los Angeles, on Saturday, officials said to the news agency AP.

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, five people are in critical condition. Another 8 to 10 are reported to be in serious condition, while 10 to 15 others sustained injuries classified as fair.

The incident caused widespread panic in the area. Authorities confirmed the crash but have not released details about the driver or the cause of the incident.

The Fire Department reported: “A vehicle has driven into a crowd of people in East Hollywood, injuring more than 20.”

Emergency services rushed the injured to nearby hospitals. The condition of some victims remains precarious as investigations continue.
