If Hamas rejects the plan, Israel will finish the job itself, says Netanyahu, after supporting Trump plan
Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday backed US president Donald Trump’s newly unveiled Gaza peace proposal, and warned that “if Hamas rejects the plan, Israel will finish the job itself.”
Opening his remarks with praise, Netanyahu told Trump: “You’ve proven time and again what I’ve said many times. You are the greatest friend Israel has ever had in the White House.” He added: “I support your plan to end the war in Gaza which achieves our war aims.”

Trump presented a 20-point proposal that, he said, would disarm Hamas, demilitarise Gaza and return hostages if the group accepts the deal. “If accepted by Hamas, proposal calls for release of all hostages,” the president said, and he added the plan would ensure “Gaza never again poses a threat to Israel.” The White House released a detailed 20-point framework alongside the joint appearance.
WARNING FROM ISRAEL
Netanyahu warned that Israel would press on militarily should Hamas refuse the offer. “If Hamas rejects the plan, Israel will finish the job itself,” he said. There was no immediate response from Hamas to the proposal.
