Pak PM Wants Nobel For Trump For ‘Stopping’ India War, Stirs Row.

This special report focuses on Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s claim that Donald Trump stopped a war between India and Pakistan, and his subsequent nomination of the US President for a Nobel Peace Prize at the Gaza Peace Summit in Egypt. Sharif stated, ‘I would say that Pakistan had nominated President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize for his extraordinary efforts to first stop the war between India and Pakistan and then achieve a ceasefire, along with his very wonderful team.’ This assertion starkly contrasts with India’s long-standing position, which was reiterated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, that there is no role for third-party mediation in matters concerning Pakistan. Indian officials have consistently maintained that de-escalation during conflicts and ceasefire agreements are the result of direct, bilateral communication between the two countries’ militaries.
