Pakistan terror hypocrisy exposed again: Jaish-e-Mohammed launches online Jihad course for women in Islamabad

Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), the UN-designated terrorist organisation based in Pakistan, has launched an online course aimed at recruiting women into its newly formed female brigade, Jamat ul-Muminat.

Documents accessed by India Today TV revealed that the course, titled Tufat al-Muminat, is designed both as a recruitment drive and a fundraising initiative, charging each participant a donation of 500 Pakistani Rupees.

The course, scheduled to begin on November 8, will be conducted through daily 40-minute live sessions on online platforms. Women closely related to JeM’s leadership — including Masood Azhar’s sisters, Sadiya and Samaira Azhar — will lead the classes, instructing participants on their roles in the organisation from the perspectives of jihad, religion, and Islamic ideology.

Earlier this month, on October 8, Masood Azhar announced the formation of Jamat ul-Muminat. A follow-up event, Dukhtaran-e-Islam, was held in Rawalkot in Pakistan-Occupied-Kashmir, on October 19 to attract women into the group.

According to sources, Pakistan’s conservative social norms often restrict women from venturing out alone. JeM is now exploiting online platforms to recruit women into terror brigades modelled after ISIS, Hamas, and LTTE, potentially including suicide or fedayeen operations.

The terror group’s fundraising strategy mirrored its broader operations, with each woman enrolled in the course having to contribute 500 PKR and submit personal details through an online form.

Analysts noted that this exposes Pakistan’s hypocrisy on terrorism. While Islamabad publicly claims compliance with Financial Action Task Force (FATF) regulations, it continues to permit groups like JeM to openly collect funds under the guise of religious or online education programs.

Masood Azhar has placed command of the women’s brigade in the hands of his younger sister, Sadiya Azhar.

The Shura (council) also included Safia Azhar and Afreera Farooq, wife of Umar Farooq– the terrorist behind the 2019 Pulwama attack who was later killed in an encounter with Indian security forces.
