India airstrike on Pakistan: Pak’s repair work, even after 6 months, shows how hard India hit

Over six months have passed since Indian strikes targeted Pakistani military installations during the four-day mini-war, but Islamabad is still struggling to repair the damage—if ace OSINT expert Damien Symon, who first reported that India hit Pakistan’s nuclear weapons depot at Kirana Hills during Operation Sindoor, is to be believed.

According to Symon’s recent posts on X, satellite imagery shows that Pakistan has begun work on a new facility at Rawalpindi’s Nur Khan Airbase, one of the locations targeted by Indian forces during Operation Sindoor.

“Pakistan appears to have constructed a new facility at Nur Khan Airbase, at the location India targeted during its May 2025 conflict,” Damien Symon posted on X on November 16.

At northern Sindh’s Jacobabad Airbase, the hangar hit by Indian strikes is still undergoing repairs, with its roof dismantled in stages. Symon claimed this was likely done to assess internal damage before full reconstruction could proceed.

“Imagery over the past few months reveals the hangar targeted by India at Jacobabad Airbase, Pakistan, during the May 2025 conflict, has had its roof taken apart in stages—likely as internal damage checks continue before the structure is repaired,” Damien Symon posted on X on November 15.

Along with Rawalpindi’s Nur Khan Airbase and northern Sindh’s Jacobabad Airbase, Indian forces targeted ten Pakistani military installations, including Pakistan Air Force bases at Murid, Rafiqui, Mushaf, Bholari, Qadrim, Sialkot, and Sukkur, following Pakistan’s attacks on Indian military installations and civilian areas.

Pakistan suffered “very heavy” and “unsustainable losses” after launching unprovoked attacks on installations and sustained losses on both land and air, said Wing Commander Vyomika Singh in May.

The strike on Nur Khan airbase in Chaklala, near Rawalpindi, was significant as it lies in proximity to the headquarters of the Strategic Plans Division, the body overseeing Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal.

After the Indian strikes, Pakistani PM Shehbaz Sharif admitted that Indian missiles hit key military sites, including Nur Khan Airbase, during Operation Sindoor. The admission confirmed India’s precision strikes in response to the Pahalgam terror attack.

India targeted Pakistani military installations in Operation Sindoor in May in response to the Pakistan-backed Pahalgam attack in April. The strikes aimed to neutralise key airbases and strategic facilities, reducing Pakistan’s ability to carry out further attacks.

Notably, Damien Symon has shared a Google Earth image of the Sargodha region of Pakistan in July, that he claimed were from June, saying that it showed the “impact location of India’s strike on Kirana Hills in May 2025″.

Symon is a geo-intelligence researcher and Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) expert known for his work at The Intel Lab.

He is widely recognised for analysing satellite imagery and publicly available data to verify or debunk claims related to conflict zones, particularly in the India-Pakistan region.
