Toronto shooting: 1 killed, 5 injured in Lawrence Heights, hunt on for gunman

One person was killed, and five others were injured after a shooting in Toronto’s Lawrence Heights neighbourhood, local media cited officials as saying on Wednesday.

Toronto Police and paramedics responded to reports of gunfire near Flemington and Zachary Roads, close to Ranee Avenue and Allen Road, shortly after 8.30 pm on Tuesday.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene, while five others were rushed to hospital with gunshot wounds described as non-life-threatening.

Police have not released details about any suspects. A command post has been established near Ranee Avenue and Flemington Road as part of the ongoing investigation.
