PM Modi backs Trump’s Gaza plan, praises Netanyahu’s leadership

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has welcomed the 20-point Gaza peace plan proposed by Trump. In a post on the social media platform X, the Prime Minister endorsed the Israel-Hamas truce deal, also adding that it is a “reflection of strong Netanyahu leadership.”

This development comes amidst hopes for the release of hostages and the urgent delivery of humanitarian aid to the population of Gaza. The new truce follows a fragile period in the region, with a previous ceasefire in January 2025 lasting only 42 days and a death toll in Palestine exceeding 66,000. 

India has consistently advocated for dialogue, diplomacy, and a two-nation solution. Other world leaders, including UK Prime Minister Estama, have also reacted, emphasising the need for unrestricted humanitarian access to Gaza.
