Gone Far Left and lost focus: Donald Trump ends support for Marjorie Taylor Greene

In a surprise move, US President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that he is withdrawing his endorsement of Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene, launching an unusually personal attack on the Georgia Republican who was once one of his closest allies.

“I am withdrawing my support and Endorsement of ‘Congresswoman’ Marjorie Taylor Greene,” Trump wrote, accusing her of doing little besides “COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN!” despite what he described as his own “Record Achievements” in office.

Trump claimed Greene turned on him after he sent her an internal poll suggesting she had no realistic chance of winning a Senate or governor’s race in Georgia. “She was at 12%, and didn’t have a chance,” he wrote, adding that she wouldn’t get his backing for either job.

He also mocked Greene’s complaints that he no longer returns her calls, writing, “I can’t take a ranting Lunatic’s call every day,” and noted that “with 219 Congressmen/women, 53 US Senators, 24 Cabinet Members, almost 200 Countries, and an otherwise normal life to lead,” he cannot cater to every lawmaker.

In his monologue, Trump hinted that he would support a Republican challenger to Greene, suggesting conservatives in her district are “fed up with her and her antics.”

“If the right person runs, they will have my Complete and Unyielding Support,” he wrote.

Trump also criticized Greene for appearing on ABC’s The View, calling the hosts “Low IQ Republican hating Anchors” and claiming Greene had “gone Far Left.”

Greene has not commented publicly on Trump’s post. Greene has long been one of Trump’s loudest defenders, and her endorsement was central to her rise as one of the House’s most polarizing figures. Trump’s decision to publicly cut ties marks a significant rupture inside his own political base and adds new tension to House Republican politics.

In his post, Trump listed what he described as his accomplishments — from “Closed Borders” to “Biggest Regulation Cuts in History” — while painting Greene as ungrateful. “All I see ‘Wacky’ Marjorie do is complain,” he wrote, signing off with “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
