Right idea to put tariffs on countries still making deals with Russia: Ukraine’s Zelenskyy amid Trump’s sanction on India

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has voiced support for imposing tariffs on countries that continue to engage in deals with Russia, calling it ‘the right idea’ amid ongoing war with Ukraine.

“I think the idea to put tariffs on the country who are continuing to make deals with Russia is the right idea,” Zelensky said in an interview.

His remarks come in the wake of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to China for a summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), where he was pictured alongside the leaders of China and Russia.

PM Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin were spotted laughing together as they were involved in a light discussion ahead of SCO session. The two leaders also took a car ride together while going to the venue for their bilateral talks. The have a nearly 45 minutes discussion in the car.
