Iran not winning war, should talk before it’s too late: Trump backs Israel at G7

US President Donald Trump on Monday said that Iran will not win in the ongoing conflict with Israel and they should get back to negotiations before it is too late. Trump said this while speaking at the ongoing G7 meeting in Canada.

Trump doesn’t intend on signing the G7 draft statement related to Israel and Iran, reported Reuters, quoting a report by CBS News.

According to the G7 draft statement, leaders have called on Israel and Iran to de-escalate tensions and avoid compromising regional stability, sources said.

Trump’s remarks came as Israel targeted Iran’s defence ministry headquarters in Tehran and struck the world’s largest natural gas processing unit linked to the South Pars gas field along the Persian Gulf in Iran’s Bushehr Province on Saturday.

In response to Israel’s Operation Rising Lion, which targeted Iran’s nuclear facilities, scientists, and top military officials, Tehran launched Operation True Promise 3. Waves of Iranian attacks began on Saturday and continued throughout the night and early morning.

Earlier, he had also warned Iran against any retaliation on US assets, saying,”If we are attacked in any way, shape or form by Iran, the full strength and might of the US armed forces will come down on you at levels never seen before.”
