Melania is GREAT: Trump reacts to James Carville’s apology over Epstein claims

US President Donald Trump on Friday, in a series of posts on his Truth Social, praised First Lady Melania Trump after Democratic strategist James Carville and the news website Daily Beast retracted content related to her and issued an apology.

“Melania is GREAT!!!” Trump wrote in a post while sharing a Daily Mail article on James Carville’s public apology.

In another post, the US President shared a screenshot of the full content of the apology statement.

James Carville apologised publicly on Thursday and said he received a letter from Melania Trump’s lawyer about a YouTube video linked to the podcast. The video’s title suggested a connection between Melania Trump and Jeffrey Epstein.

Carville said he reviewed the complaint, took down the video, removed the comments from the episode, and issued an apology. Melania Trump posted a screenshot of the removed video and a transcript of Carville’s apology on X.

“In last week’s podcast episode, we spoke with Judd Legum. After the episode, we received a letter from Melania Trump’s lawyer. He took issue with our title of one of those YouTube videos from that episode and a couple of comments I made about the first lady,” Carville said in the statement.

“We took a look at what they complained about, and we took down the video and edited out those comments from the episode,” he continued explaining the developments.

“I also take back these statements and apologise,” Carville added.

The title of the removed video was “James Carville: The Epstein Connection – Trump & Melania.” The original comments are no longer available.

Earlier, in a related development, the Daily Beast also removed an article last week after hearing from Melania Trump’s legal team. An editor’s note replaced the article, saying the outlet took down the piece after reviewing the lawyer’s concerns and apologised for any confusion.

“After this story was published, The Beast received a letter from First Lady Melania Trump’s attorney challenging the headline and framing of the article,” read the editor’s note.

“After reviewing the matter, the Beast has taken down the article and apologises for any confusion or misunderstanding,” it added.

The article referred to claims by author Michael Wolff that Melania was introduced to Donald Trump by a modelling agent linked to Jeffrey Epstein. Melania has denied this and said in her 2024 memoir that she met Trump in 1998 at a Fashion Week party in New York City.
