PM Modi Meets Albanese at G20 Johannesburg ; India-Australia Cooperation & Global South Focus

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is attending the 20th G20 summit in Johannesburg, South Africa, where he held bilateral talks with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to review the India-Australia relationship. The leaders discussed deepening cooperation in defence, security, trade, and technology. At the summit, PM Modi is expected to speak on inclusive economic growth, climate resilience, and artificial intelligence, while advancing India’s perspective on the G20 agenda and the interests of the Global South. During their meeting, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese stated, ‘Can I begin that by expressing my condolences to the people of India for firstly the terrorist attack at the airport and our explosion, but also for the bus crash in Saudi Arabia that led to a loss of human lives’. The Prime Minister is also expected to hold talks with South Africa to deepen economic and strategic partnerships.
