Pope Francis health update – Pope Francis suffers 2 episodes of ‘acute respiratory failure’: Vatican
Pope Francis on Monday suffered two episodes of “acute respiratory insufficiency” as the 88-year-old pontiff continues to double pneumonia, the Vatican said.
The Pope, who has been in Rome’s Gemelli Hospital since February 14, is again receiving “non-invasive, mechanical ventilation” to assist his breathing.
“Today, the Holy Father experienced two episodes of acute respiratory insufficiency, caused by a significant accumulation of endobronchial mucus,” the Vatican said in its latest medical update.
