Returning to the wild: 4,900 Baby Turtles released in the Amazon

Thousands of yellow-spotted river turtles (Podocnemis unifilis) are released into the Iguapo-Acu River in Beruri, Amazonas, Brazil, on 7 February 2025. Led by the Universidade Federal do Amazonas, the conservation project has returned over 70,000 turtles to the wild in the past decade. (AFP)
