Russia killing people, showing no intent to end war: Zelenskyy on Trump-Putin meet

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Friday that Russia’s continued attacks, even on the day of high-level negotiations, prove Moscow has no intention of ending the war.

“On the day of negotiations, the Russians are killing as well. And that speaks volumes,” Zelenskyy said in a social media X.

His comments came as US President Donald Trump prepared to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin in Anchorage, Alaska, for talks aimed at ending the nearly three-year conflict.

Zelenskyy said Ukraine has been in close contact with Washington and European allies on how to achieve a “just end to the war.” He stressed Kyiv’s willingness to engage: “Ukraine is ready to work as productively as possible to bring the war to an end, and we count on a strong position from America.”

He warned that Moscow factors US resolve into its war strategy: “Everything will depend on this – the Russians factor in American strength. Make no mistake – strength.”

This is a developing story. It will be updated.
