19 awarded US Presidential Medal of Freedom by Joe Biden, including Hillary Clinton, Bono, George Soros

In the East Room of the White House, President Joe Biden presented the Presidential Medal of Freedom to 19 prominent figures in politics, sports, entertainment, civil rights, LGBTQ+ advocacy, and science. Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton received a standing ovation as she accepted her medal. She was joined by her husband, former President Bill Clinton, their daughter Chelsea, and her grandchildren. Among the other recipients were Democratic philanthropist George Soros and actor-director Denzel Washington, who were honored in a ceremony celebrating the nation’s highest civilian award.
