Pak foreign ministry contradicts its defence minister on Simla agreement status

Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry has contradicted the Defence Minister’s statement that the Simla Agreement is a ‘dead document’. The Foreign Ministry clarified that no formal decision has been made and all treaties remain intact. This contradiction comes after India’s announcement to put the Indus Water Treaty in abeyance. The Simla Agreement, signed in 1971, established the Line of Control between India and Pakistan.
